Baklava is a prime
pastry dessert that has a cardinal place
in the Middle East, Balkan and Southern
Asia cuisines, particularly the Turkish
cuisine. Although the origin is
controversial, it has gained the final
features in the Ottoman cuisine.
Baklava
is made by thin layers of phyllo dough
and between these layers, according to
the region, pistachio, hazelnut or
walnut is laid. Generally it is
sweetened by sugar syrup.
